Happy Birthday Allen!

Happy Birthday to my brother Allen!
I can't wait to see you this week!

FYI

In case you ever wonder...disposable diapers do not wash well with clothing items.
Just thought I would pass that along!

Friday Confessions...

I have decided to join the Friday Fess Up Bandwagon. Melissa has "fess up's" every Friday and during my latest "blog hopping" I have seen many people do a Friday Confession. Here we go...

#1. I did not go to the grocery store on Sunday and buy a Sara Lee Cherry Cheesecake just for me. I did not eat the entire cake in three days by myself. {Insert dumb look on my face..."why can I not lose weight?"}
#2. I did not sweet talk Randy into changing John's "muddy" diaper at least five times this week...knowing they were muddy.
#3. I did not lose an entire night sleep worrying about my brother.
#4. I did not stress out by trying to get all of my Christmas decorations put out before Thanksgiving.
#5. I did not cry when I took John's diaper cake apart...the one that Melissa made over a year ago.
#6. I did not cry...again...when I watched Jon & Kate renew their vows.
#7. I did not let my 14 month old son eat nothing but Capt'Crunch cereal for dinner...and then some M&M's for dessert.
#8. I did not miss yoga twice this week..and feel no guilt.

Wow Melissa...this does make me feel better!

Christmas Time's A Coming...

Yes...it is 36 until Christmas and my decorating for the season is 98% over - PTL!
I decided to get it done while the weather was nice and thank goodness I did...Doppler Dave says the days of 70 degrees are over! John stayed outside the entire time. He loved it...and didn't try to go to the road once! He did sample a dirt clot...and immediately spit it out. He loves to be outside exploring and getting into everything. It is so fun to see his face when we turn the lights on...his eyes get really big and he says "ohhhh"..which makes all this work worth itHe would NOT take a nap while we were outside but the second
we came in he thought he found a comfortable spot to crash for a few zzzz's!

I've Been Tagged

I was tagged by Melissa and I'm excited to play along!
Here are the rules:
1. Make a link to the person who tagged you and then explain the rules
2. Share 7 random facts about yourself
3. Tag 7 other people and link to them at the end of the post
4. Let each of the 7 people know they've been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog

Ok peeps----here it goes---

7 random facts about myself.

1. I love music - all types. I am really good at naming bands/albums/songs especially any country & late 70-80 rock. I go through music phases...I have made John at least 25 different mixes...like we have a morning mix, a bedtime mix, taking a bath mix, getting a massage mix...on and on...oh...and YES - we already have our Christmas mix going!

2. I HATE the sound of an aluminum can being cut.

3. I don't like mushrooms - at all.

4. I have been deer, rabbit, quail, & pheasant hunting....it hurts my heart to much to do it now.

5. Unlike Melissa...I do the extreme opposite of decorating...I over decorate for any holiday or season. My entryway table generally represents the season/month. It is November 16th and I already have my Christmas tree in place with 85% of the decorations on it...my den is already decked out...and I plan on putting roughly 6500 lights on the outside this week. Yes...it is totally nuts...but I love seeing John's face...and...making him crazy by turning the lights on (which makes him happy) and turning them off (which upsets him greatly)!

6. I am into purses...I mean really into purses! If I get it in my mind to get a new purse...I have to get one...it is almost a drug type addiction. Not expensive purse...cheap...cute purse. Like my Christmas purse I must start carrying!! I will be shopping on Quackers now!!

7. Sometimes...this is really bad...but sometimes...John will be sleeping really good in his own bed...and...and I will get him out and take him to my bed because my house is cold and he is really toasty warm...and a perfect cuddle bug!

Ok, now to the fun tagging part.

Let's pick: my only blogger girl besides Melissa...http://leeleesplace.blogspot.com/

Downhill Slide!!

John is definitely on the downhill slide - the tour of chicken pox '08 is leaving town! He is much happier and back to his old self - PRAISE GOD! Thank you for all of your prayers, e-mails, calls, & cards! I am so happy we are almost through this!

One Small Step...

This "chicken pox" thing is the worst! I hate this. This has to be one of the worst things I have been through...having a sick baby and not knowing where he is hurting stinks! My heart hurts beyond words and I have cried a hundred tears today. Randy says I am taking it worse than John! John seems to be doing better...he does have a low grade fever but he is playing and eating and drinking really good...and...and he took his first steps alone tonight! We were not trying to get him to walk...Randy had something he wanted and he took about four steps by his self! Randy started yelling...I started yelling & crying (of course)...I ran and got the video camera...John was excited & jumping up and down. He actually did it again for us for the camera. My day did have a highlight! There was one more thing that made my day...two little girls that live on my block came by at different times to bring John get well cards! They are so cute and very creative...made my day!

Day Three of Ten

Here are some pictures from this morning. Last night was a little better than the night before...we are still not getting much sleep. He will sleep good a couple of hours then he wakes up crying. The time cycle for Chicken Pox is 7 to 10 days. I am really hoping this is the third day of ten...or later! Some of the little spots have opened...so maybe some will start healing!
Keep praying for us.

Chicken Pox...

As most of you know Randy has had shingles for three weeks - they have been very bad and they are very contagious. Shingles is the chicken pox virus...and John is not old enough for the vaccination. I noticed John wasn't his usual chipper self Thursday and Friday...then on Saturday I thought he was getting a horrible diaper rash...but then Monday morning I noticed several small bumps...called MaMa over to inspect and sure enough...he has chicken pox! I wish I could say it hasn't been that bad...you can tell he is miserable...and last night was a long night. We have been giving him an oatmeal bath every 4 to 5 hours and I have some prescription medicine from John's dermatologist that seems to be working! I have heard that the older the child the worse it is...so I am grateful to be getting this over with now...I guess.

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you," declares the LORD, "and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you," declares the LORD, "and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile."

VOTE!

Good Morning Friends!
I won't go into a long dissertation about who I think you should vote for today...hopefully you have made that decision already...I just want you to vote!
Especially if you are a woman! Do you realize that we (as women) did not have the right to vote until 1920? Some territories like Utah, and Wyoming allowed it but it was not a constitutional law until 1920...that is only 88 years...which is not that long ago! History is going to be made today...no matter what party wins tonight! Be apart of something great! This is what makes America great - the privilege to VOTE!

Go Tech!!

The game tonight between Texas Tech and Texas made it worth NOT seeing ZZ Top in concert! This was one of the BEST games I have ever seen in my life! Texas Tech won in the last 2 seconds of the game! Texas Tech was ranked # 7 and Texas WAS #1! It will be interesting to see where Texas Tech is ranked in the BCS poll on Monday!
