Adrenaline Rush

I have had enough adrenaline rushes the past week that I am thumbnailCA9IZJEK amazed I have not gone into labor. Between the Cardiologist, the Endocrinologist, to my Dad calling me at 4am to tell me my Mom was having trouble breathing, to my Mom being in the hospital...then out of the hospital, John having a major accident, and then finding out that my most beloved dog did this to my baby...I stayed in bed almost all weekend.  Did I mention that Randy has been under the weather??

I did venture out with Randy & John this evening....protesting  & whining...I just wanted to stay in bed again today but Randy insisted that I get out of the house.    After a few errands I told him that I needed to go home and start dinner before we go to Wal-Mart.  He suggested we go out to dinner which is very rare for us anymore.  We went to Red Robin since I have been craving a burger with an egg & bacon on it.  It was the perfect meal and it was one of those moments that I never wanted to forget.  I have been so sad, depressed, blue, lackadaisical, and unmotivated for a month or so but for a moment in that restaurant with my husband and son....the world was perfect.   There was a song from the fifties playing in the background....John was being really cute & eating good, and Randy was smiling.  For a moment life was great.  Then we went to Wal-Mart.  :)  Wal-Mart wasn't that bad...I do hate going to Wal-Mart for many reasons and I usually avoid it but this was one of times we had to go.

On our way home from Wal-Mart Randy needed to stop by Radio Shack & Natural Grocers - they are in the same strip mall.  We were turning left onto 34th street from Coulter and it seemed like we were at the red light for an eternity!  We were second in line behind an old beat-up little green truck with two men in it.  When the green arrow appeared the man in front of us was not paying attention...he was messing with his phone (imagine that!) so Randy tapped his horn.  The man immediately flipped Randy the finger and then proceeded to go about three mph through this busy intersection.  By chance this green truck was going where we were going...in the same parking lot.  Apparently he thought Randy wanted to "start something" and slammed on his brakes in front of us in the parking lot....almost causing us to rear-end him.

There goes my adrenaline.....

Randy swerved to barely missed him and parked our SUV in front of Radio Shack....of course I am telling Randy not to get out ...you hear all sorts of stories about road rage & such.  Randy said "whatever"...and steps out of the vehicle.  Then I see this man....which is actually a young boy....park his truck and start heading towards Randy.

More adrenaline.....

About that time the young thumbnailCA0C7NQA boy gets a good look at Randy.  For those of you (Jan) who have never met Randy...he is not a small man.  Randy stands about 6'3" and tips the scales at 350+.  This young punk gets an eye full of Randy and RUNS bacthumbnailCABBN579k to his truck and hauls tail out of the parking lot!!  At that moment I laughed- I was still on guard but I did laugh.  I guess this young punk thought he was going to start something and seen Randy's size then decided he might have been trying to bite off more than he could chew.

Randy and I chuckled all the way home.  Randy is in no condition to fight....he has really bad knees and  he said he would get "winded" throwing his first punch.  Randy said he  guess he would've tried to knock him down and sit on him!

My big strong tough man - he didn't seemed fazed at all. It just goes to show you...you can't always judge a book by it's cover!

**side note - The man in the white briefs with the wrestling belt is Arn Anderson...he was a popular wrestler in the eighties.  People come up to Randy all the time and ask him he's Arn Anderson - it's pretty funny!

I tried to call you tonight and it was probably at that same time. I tried on the house phone. I know Randy's size scares people, but I know him for the teddy bear he really is. I'm glad nothing happend and glad you are all okay.

I can't stand punks, bullys, and idiots. And it seems they are all around us.

Actually I think I encounter so many of them because I have made it my goal to learn how NOT to act by watching them. G-d seems to provide lots of examples for my learning.
