My Epiphany for the Day

When John is ill or gets a boo-boo he wants me to hold him or "kiss it & make it better".  I love that he comes to me for this comfort.  It warms my heart when I can kiss the boo-boo and make it better or rock him when he has a fever that won't break.024 027

No one else will do except Mommy.

The same is true for Christina.  She knows my smell and my voice.  When she's crying I can hold her close and speak softly to her and she calms down instantly.  I love this.IMG_7669I was thinking about the joys of Motherhood today - this being one of them and I told the Lord how much I loved it.  I prayed at that moment that my children always come to me when they are hurt, needing comfort, or want to sit in my lap for some loving.

Then it hit me.

And I started to cry.

That's what the Lord wants.

As His children He wants us to run to Him whenever we are sick, worried, hurting, sad, or downtrodden.  I believe He wants us to crawl into His lap and let Him love on us....to comfort us.  Just like I love it when my children do it....He loves it when we go to Him for comfort....we will always be His children.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,  who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.  For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.  If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer.  And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.     2 Cor 1:3-8

If you need me today I will be somewhere curled up in the lap of our Father.  BTW - it's big enough for the both of us - come join me.
