Have you ever had a…bad year – a year that just didn’t seem to go so well…when seems like one struggle after another?
For years I have always said that 1993 was the worse year of my life. Looking back it was a pretty bad year but I survived. Then there was 2006 which WAS the worst year of my life….but it did end great! 2007 & 2008 was two of my most favorite years…and now there is 2009.
This has been a year of many bittersweet moments…and moments that just…well…excuse my language…but this year has had moments that just sucked.
Here is my top ten suckiest moments for 2009:
#1. My Dad’s heart attack.
#2. Richard Appling’s death.
#3. Not one…but two miscarriages within 9 months.
#4. Two Uncles and a cousin died within weeks of each other.
#5. John being in the hospital.
#6. Everyone I know having MAJOR martial issues.
#7. Dan. That’s all I need to say about that.
#8. Weight loss….weight gain…weight loss….weight gain.
#9. The flu bird nesting on top of my house from 12/23/09 to current.
#10. Michael Jackson is dead.*
So…I have to put my best moments of 2009:
#1. My Dad is alive.
#2. My Mom is alive.
#3. John is healthy, spirited, and the most fun.
#4. I got to see lots of family and friends this year!
#5. Seeing the amazing faith and grace that my friend Nancy has.
#6. Seeing everything from John’s eyes.
#7. My favorite friend is living on the beach.
#8. Randy has become my very best friend.
#9. I am half way finished with the Bible.
#10. God has a plan…much better than mine.
I am not sure why I am so excited about 2010 coming. It is like it is a “fresh” start. New beginnings…cleaning the slate. I don’t know what the New Year will bring but I do know that God is in charge and…He has a great plan.
So…here’s to new beginnings.
May your 2010 be your best year ever.

I agree, that you have had some major challenges this year, but like you said, God has a plan. There is always something good in everything bad if we just look for it or recognize it. I too pray that 2010 will be an amazing year, in a good and blessed way. Love you.

2009 SUCKED. There is no way around that fact. And you know what? 2010 WILL be amazing, I just know it. Rest assured all is well here--I promise. :) Although 2009 was definitely not my year, I made it through. What doesn't kill us only makes us stronger! Love you!
