Prayers.....

My Mom's Dad was a coal miner - he started when he was 13 years old.  My Dad's Dad was a coal miner.  My Dad was a coal miner.  One of my cousins is a federal coal mine inspector and most of my Uncles & Cousins are still coal miners.  This is a way of life in West Virginia.  Most boys finish high school and go straight into the coal mines in West Virginia.  Why?  They usually start making between $50,000 to $65,000 their first year.

I am sure you have seen or heard about the coal mine explosion in Whiteville, West Virginia - that's home.  My family is blessed that none of our family works at that mine but they have lots of friends and neighbors that do.  My cousin Sandy worked in the office of that mine - she knows lots of miners that work there.

Please pray for the families and the friends of Upper Big Branch Mine.

I immediately thought of you and your family when I heard them say "West Virginia." I'm glad all your family is safe, but saddened for those that were not so lucky.
